The past couple of months have been a challenge in the church plant that is ongoing in Neustadt. Distractions and conflicts have kept the leadership team from being able to prepare the belief statement to present to the membership. Leadership overstretched in other ministries led to some burn-out and put a lot of operations on the back burner.
It was a series of frustrating and nervous weeks.
Thankfully the tide seems to have turned. It must be said that all along the actual functioning of the everyday church activities has gone just as it should. Home groups continued to meet. Unbelievers and guests were made to feel welcome and continued to come. It was just the leadership team that found themselves in need of renewed vision.
Well, it looks like that is starting to sort itself out a bit. At the request of the team, we are going to be taking a temporarily stronger role. It is actually something that has been needed for a while now, but the timing needed to be right. Two of the house groups are going to merge into one for a while, but both of the remaining groups will be reaching capacity again soon, and they both are remaining aware of the need to multiply in the future.
Pray that things continue to go well over the next year until the groups are then forced to step out on their own for a period of time. Pray that distractions and groups trying to take our eyes off of our purpose are not successful. They are still in the picture, but for now are not in the forefront. Pray for renewal amongst the leadership team and that the vision will stay strong.
