Hey Jason!
I saw your blog today for the 1st time and read with interest the increasing use of art as a means of telling those who would never darken the doors of a church about Him.
Back in 2005 in Cham, Germany, I opened an "open" art studio, where I sat in a large "Schaufenster" and painted oil paintings -- mostly realistic landscapes -- that would interest and sell to the Germans of the area. It worked. I usually opened up between 6:00 PM - Midnight on Thurs.-Sunday nights. My shop was located next to the best pizza rest. in the county. High traffic area!! I painted and sold ca. 60 paintings, had multiple "non-threatening" opps to share, handed out Jesus DVDs (childrens edition in German) to the kids, and was allowed by Him to actually lead several in faith to Him. The money went to IMB feeding programs in Malawi.
I made a point of painting water in every painting, so that I could use it as a reference to John 7:38 and open the door for Him.
You probably are aware of all of this...I just wanted to share how using art was very effective as a "first contact" evangelistic platform.
